Miss USA delivers books and computers to students at P.S. 73

Students at P.S. 73 got a surprise visit Tuesday from Miss USA, who came bearing gifts.

Sussi Castillo delivered hundreds of bilingual books and two computers to P.S. 73; items the school's principal says were desperately needed. The principal says the items will be very helpful in promoting initiatives set forth by the Schools Chancellor.

The principal says P.S. 73 has a predominately Hispanic student body so having a Latina Miss USA at the school is a great inspiration to the students.

Throughout the day Castillo read stories to the kids and even played a trivia game with them. The winners of the trivia game were crowned king and queen of the school. Castillo told the students that being bilingual opened many doors for her.

Verizon funded the day's event and donations.
