Bronx college student injured while train surfing dies

A 21-year-old SUNY Maritime College student has died from injuries he sustained train surfing.

Brian Hochestetter, of Brooklyn, succumbed to his injuries Wednesday almost a week after being rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.

Hochestetter and Chistopher Loughrey, 22, both students at the State University of New York Maritime College, were injured while train surfing on the Number 6 train at the Morrison-Soundview station last Friday. Loughrey died at the scene.
