M.S. 142 reopens following anthrax scare

M.S. 142 was back open Tuesday after being closed due to an anthrax scare.

Officials were forced to shut down the school Monday before it even opened to students after a faculty member opened up a threatening letter containing a powdery substance. Initial tests by the Department of Environmental Protection show that the powder was just flour.

Three people were treated at Jacobi Medical Center. Police and fire officials say ever since the September 11th attacks they treat every instance like the one at M.S. 142 seriously.

Meanwhile police are still trying to figure out who sent the hate mail.
