Early bird Bronx shoppers busy taking advantage of sales on Black Friday

It's known as the busiest shopping day of the year and residents were up and out early to find those holiday bargains.

The Christmas shopping rush has officially begun and thousands were out getting a jumpstart on their lists. Stores were mobbed as soon as they opened their doors. At Toys 'R' Us, the doors opened at 6 a.m. and by sunrise it was packed with shoppers

Stores will now have extended hours, and retailers are hopeful that this will be one of the best shopping seasons in recent years.
