BX parents demand answers at demonstration for fired principal

Bronx parents held a demonstration Monday in support of the fired Grace Lutheran School principal.

The parents, who have kids attending the Grace Lutheran School, say their pastor is turning his back when it comes to giving answers as to why principal Yvette George was fired last Wednesday. Parents say they received a vague letter stating that a special church council unanimously voted her out.

George claims she was given no reason for her dismissal and says she was fired in front of the students.

The church's pastor told News 12 The Bronx the school is functioning well. Meanwhile the president of the Atlantic District, which oversees New York City Lutheran churches, says he will examine both sides and give advice on the matter. He cannot make any decisions for the school.
