Some Bronx students forced to cross Mosholu Parkway to get to school

Students at Clinton Dewitt High School have a big hurdle to overcome each day on their way to school.

The teens must cross the Mosholu Parkway in order to get to class and parents say it is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Parents say they would like to see police monitoring the situation or to see an overhead crosswalk built.

But the Department of Transportation says there are regular crosswalks in place so there is really nothing it can do. The DOT did make the six-lane roadway one way, but students still have a difficult time getting across.

Students at nearby Bronx Science school must also battle the traffic on the Mosholu Parkway each day.
