Weekend storms cover The Bronx with several inches of snow

Road crews throughout the Bronx were busy working to clear the roads. The crews have about 150 salt spreaders working around the clock to keep the roads clean.

Residents are urged to stay home if possible because of the slippery conditions. AAA says if you do venture out, accelerate and decelerate slowly, know your brakes, don't stop if you don't have to, and leave plenty of space between your car and the car ahead of you.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning for The Bronx through Saturday night. Snow will continue to be heavy at times with strong winds. Gusts will range from 20 to 40 mph.

Residents could see 7-12 additonal inches of snow by Sunday morning.
