14-year-old boy accused of three sexual assaults in Bedford Park

Police say a 14-year-old boy is behind bars for sex attacks on three Bronx girls in Bedford Park.

Police say the boy is linked to three sexual assaults on three Bronx girls. His name isn't being released because of his age, but some Bedford Park residents say age shouldn't matter when paying for a crime.

Police say the pattern began last week. Two of the incidents happened on Bainbridge Avenue and the other on Briggs Avenue. The first girl, an 11-year-old, was sexually abused on the fourth floor of a building. The second Bronx girl, a 9-year-old, was sexually assaulted in an elevator. The last victim, a 14-year-old, was assaulted on the second floor of a building Thursday night. Police say the victims gave similar descriptions of the suspect.

The boy was arrested Friday reportedly at a high school, but police are not saying where.
