North Bronx residents taking precautions after string of burglaries

Police continue to look for the person responsible for breaking into North Bronx homes.

For months police in the 50th Precinct have been searching for the person who has been preying on apartments and homes. Police say the individual looks for open windows and even rings the doorbell to see if anyone is home. If no one answers, the suspect proceeds into the home by climbing through a window and then walking out the front door with belongings from the home.

The areas that have been targeted include Riverdale, Kingsbridge Heights and Marble Hill.

Police had arrested someone in connection with the case, but there was not enough evidence to charge the person.
