Dozens of Richard Green M.S. students become sick from pepper spray

Dozens of students were treated and some hospitalized after pepper spray was released in school.

Sixth graders at Richard Green Middle School were just finishing lunch when they began to smell pepper. Students say they began coughing and throwing up. The fire department and Hazmat teams arrived at the scene after receiving a call that 75 students were in respiratory distress. None of the injuries were serious.

Meanwhile, a male student who police believe released the pepper spray in a crowded first floor hallway is in custody.
