Bronx immigrants having problems submitting online visa applications

Some Bronx immigrants have run into problems Tuesday submitting online visa applications.

The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program allows immigrants to obtain permanent resident visas through a lottery system. But on the last day to submit applications, the online system became flooded. Officials say there is nothing they can do since people had two months to file for a visa. They say the deadline will not be extended.

For those immigrants hoping to obtain one of the 50,000 visas through the lottery, all they can do is just keep trying to get onto the U.S. Department of State's Web site.
