Students and staff at one Bronx school feeling the cold inside

Students at one BX school say it's as cold inside the building as it is outside.

At the High School for Violin and Dance, students and school officials say the heat in the building is not working well, making it tough to get through the day. Students say they are forced to play the violin with their coats on.

A school staff member says in addition to the cold, radiators are leaking and causing water damage. She says the water damage has already caused areas of the gymnasium to buckle.

One school official says the kids have been moved to warmer classrooms, but it's not a permanent solution. The parent coordinator at the school says complaints have been reported, but no real progress has been made. News 12 The Bronx contacted the Department of Education but did not receive a call back.
