Metropair cutbacks will affect seniors throughout the Bronx

Metropair, a program run by the city that assists elderly people with repair work around their homes, is being scaled back due to budget cuts.

The program, which assists thousands of low-income seniors throughout New York City, sends repairmen to the homes of elderly people to perform the repairs.

Metropair says they lost $500,000 dollars in funding from the city, which forced them to lower the number of repairmen in the field.

The program is funded by the Department of Aging and private donations.
