Bronx students get second chance to make the grade

The Department of Education is urging high school dropouts in the Bronx to return to school for a second chance.

The return could be as easy as filling out a form. There will be open enrollment at Bronx Learning Support Centers until February 6.

The Department of Education has sent notices to families and put ads in city papers to reconnect with students let down by the system.

City officials said more than 100,000 students were pressured to drop out of school in the last few years because they didn't make the grade or brought test scores down.

There are two learning centers in the Bronx where people can go sign up. They are located at One Fordham Plaza, and 1230 Zerega Avenue. The centers are open weekday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
