Flood watch in effect for the Bronx

Drivers and pedestrians may have a hard time navigating Bronx roadways and sidewalks Friday. The commute could be complicated as snow, sleet and ice have accumulated on local streets and highways.

Plain rain has become the primary precipitation type across the region. However, pockets of freezing rain will make for dangerous travel conditions in spots. The rain will likely be heavy at times, creating poor drainage and flooding across the area. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the Bronx through late Friday.
