Students blame racism for fight at Roosevelt High School

A melee broke out in the hallways of Roosevelt High School Tuesday. Students say the fight was the result of racial conflicts between certain groups at the school.

Students who witnessed the fight say it was an all out riot. They say the fight, involving some 50 students began on the 4th floor of the school. One student said kids were throwing garbage cans, chairs and anything they could get their hands on.

Security guards eventually broke up the fight. The Department of Education says disciplinary action is pending against some students.

This most recent fight comes just three weeks after eight students were arrested for a fight.
