Some Bronx parents demanding action from DOT to keep their kids safe
Some parents claim the Department of Transportation has not addressed their concerns.
Parents with children who attend P.S. 54 and P.S 246 say calls to the Department of Transportation to report concerns about their kids' safety have been ignored. The parents are demanding that speed bumps be placed near the schools. In addition, they want sidewalks in the area fixed.
At a recent meeting, parents expressed their concerns to police and called on them to increase patrols near the school. They say there are a lot of fights near the schools.
The Department of Transportation has so far said it did not feel additional speed bumps were needed near the schools.
