Two-year construction project on Riverdale Avenue finally complete
Traffic was moving along a little better Monday as construction on Riverdale Avenue came to an end.
The city had been working to fix a retaining wall on Riverdale Avenue ever since it collapsed two years ago. During the construction, a portion of the roadway was narrowed down to one lane, which many residents said created dangerous conditions. Residents and local politicians had complained that the city was taking too long to finish the project.
The Department of Design and Construction had said in the past that the construction was taking so long because it was a complicated project.
