Man arrested in gruesome murder of 20-year-old Bronx mother
A 25-year-old Bronx man has been arrested in the brutal killing of a woman in her Valentine Avenue apartment.Police arrested Wilfred Lopez in the death of 20-year-old Eva Madera. Madera was discovered lying on the floor of her Tremont apartment at about 1 p.m. Tuesday with her heart cut out.According to police, Madera was alone in the apartment at the time of the murder. A baby sitter was watching her infant son across the street. Bronx neighbors say Madera was a doting mom, who kept to herself and who had plans on finishing her education.Police say Lopez was taken into custody and questioned in Madera's death. He was later arrested on charges of second-degree murder and criminal weapons possession.Authorities say Madera broke up with her alleged attacker, and he later came back and killed her.
