Fmr. President Clinton talks to young BX residents about the importance of voting

Former President Bill Clinton was in the Bronx Wednesday encouraging young residents to vote.

Clinton was joined by Tiki Barber of the NY Giants, Miss USA 2003 and representatives from a number of TV stations at Hostos Community College. The purpose of the conference was to let young voters know they too have a voice in government. Clinton told students to think about how they are going to have more of a say in what happens in their lives.

Approximately 700 registered voters between the ages of 18-24 attended the conference. They listened to panelists and were able to exchange ideas on topics including how to get more people to vote.

The overall message of the day was don't complain about issues in your neighborhood if you have never voted because voting helps you elect the right officials.
