City Council introduces bill to make voter registration easier for young residents
The City Council announced a new bill on the steps of City Hall Wednesday.
The City Council bill proposes including voter registration applications along with diplomas and requiring schools to make registration forms available to students.
According to lawmakers, only 17 percent of New Yorkers under the age of 25 voted in the last mayoral election. They believe that lack of participation makes it harder for young Bronx residents to have their issues addressed.
