Former Co-op City video store manager found not guilty of rape, sexual assault

The former manager of Hollywood Video in Co-City was found not guilty Friday of rape and sexual assault.

Five women had accused 26-year-old Charles Cabble of raping and sexually assaulting them. But throughout the trial, Cabble's defense maintained that he did not harm any of the women. The defense insisted the women made up the accounts of sexual assault and were using the criminal trial as a way to bolster a civil case against Hollywood Video.

Cabble spent seven months in Rikers Island and now his lawyers say they may take action.

Meantime, the women are moving forward with a $50 million civil suit against Hollywood Video. The lawyer representing the women in the civil case said they were disappointed with the verdict.
