McClancey ends St. Raymond's hopes of first hockey title in school history

(03/13/04) THE BRONX - The (2) St. Raymond Ravens from the Bronx handed the (1) McClancey Crusaders (15-1) their only loss during the regular season. But McClancey won the season series 2-1. Now, the one and two seeds face off again in the CHSHL 'C' Division Final, a best-of-three-game series. St. Ray's was skating for their first hockey title in school history.

In the first game of the series in Yonkers, the Ravens led 2-0 at the end of two periods. Then in the third, the Crusaders scored two late goals to force overtime. McClancey won the first game in OT 3-2 and led the series 1-0.

Game 2 took place on Coney Island, but no overtime was necessary in this game. McClancey won 4-2 and dashed St. Raymond's hopes of winning their first-ever hockey title. The Crusaders swept the series 2-0 becoming the CHSHL 'C' Division Champions.
