Bus lanes on Fordham Road are good for traffic, but bad for some storeowners
Bus lanes on Fordham Road may be good for traffic but some storeowners in the Bronx say they're bad for business. The bus lanes have been in place for more than a year now, and in that time, some storeowners say their business has decreased by 20 to 30 percent.
The bus lanes were originally designed to speed up the flow of traffic by providing a lane for buses that drivers can just go around. But storeowners say the bus lanes are taking away parking spots that their customers would normally use.
Local business owners say they all met to propose some solutions, but none of them ever worked out.
