Emperors Stickball League holds annual awards ceremony

The best of the best in stickball were recently honored at the annual Emperors Stickball ceremony.

Along with honoring the league's best, an award was presented in honor of the league's commissioner who died on 9/11. Steve Marcado was a NYC firefighter from the Bronx and commissioner of the league. So each year the league hands out the Steve Marcado Brotherhood award. Richard Mojica was this year's recipient. He said he was honored and hopes to keep the game and memory of Marcado alive.

In other award ceremonies, Monsignor Scanlan High School held its 2nd annual Baseball Alumni event. The school's 1957 winning team was honored.
