Some Bronx middle school students get a visit from a unique robotic friend

ASIMO, the world's most advanced humanoid robot, captured the imaginations of some students at one west Bronx Middle School.

ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, stopped off at the school because students from the Robotech Club won a nationwide essay contest. The students say Asimo is pretty cool. The kids even built their own robots from Legos and put a lot of effort into hosting ASIMO.

The robot is the brainchild of Honda. The company spent 15 years building the robot, with the ultimate goal being to make ASIMO a help to humankind.
