Alfred Smith High School students get their very own field of dreams

The rain couldn't dampen spirits at Alfred Smith High School as officials and students gathered Thursday for a dedication ceremony to unveil the school's new athletic field. The school was able to get a new field thanks to a program called "Take the Field."

While the students are excited about getting to play sports in style, they are most enthusiastic about getting a football team for the first time. The principal says students have been waiting for a long time to have a football team.

"Take the Field" is a privately funded program that helps bring new fields to schools in Bronx and city. Alfred Smith High School is the 7th school in the Bronx to get a new athletic field.
