St. Raymond eliminated from New York State Federation Basketball Tournament

(03/28/04) GLENS FALLS, NY - The St. Raymond Ravens traveled up to Glens Falls, NY in search of the New York State Federation Basketball title. There was a possible dream match-up in the finals between the Catholic League champion Ravens and Lincoln, the PSAL champions. But first the Ravens, ranked the #2 team in the state, had to beat the #1 ranked team in NY, the Mount Vernon Knights, in the semi-final.

St. Ray's beat Mount Vernon by one point in January, but the Knights played that game without their best player, Keith Benjamin. But Benjamin was in the line-up this time for Mount Vernon in their NYS Federation Tournament semi-final game.

Benjamin and the rest of the Mount Vernon team was too much for St. Ray's to handle on Sunday. The Knights beat the Ravens 72-66, and St. Ray's was eliminated from the tournament.
