Stations of the Cross taken from a Riverdale church are returned

A Yonkers man has been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property for taking the Stations of the Cross from St. Margaret's of Cortona Church in Riverdale.

Kevin Madison is accused of taking the 13 Stations sometime between Sunday night and Monday. Police say he then sold the Stations, but when the buyer realized they were the stolen items he heard about on the news he decided to turn them over.

Monsignor John Farley was saddened when the Stations were missing but is now rejoicing that they have been recovered.

Madison must now go before a judge in Bronx County Court.
