Co-op City residents once again have parking as more spots open in Garage 6

Hundreds of Co-op City residents can now stop searching for parking on the street. On Thursday, 500 spots in Garage 6 were reopened. That brings the total number of spots available to more than 900 because some 450-500 spaces opened up in October.

Residents have had a hard time parking ever since Garage 6 and four others were closed down for renovations. Garage 6 still needs more work done to its roof and ramps. Riverbay Corporation, the company that runs Co-op City says there is no way to tell how much longer the renovations to Garage 6 will take. But the company says there are now enough spots for the residents who are registered to use the garage.

Meanwhile, renovations to the four other garages have yet to begin.
