Throgs Neck residents want something done about their unwanted neighbors

Residents in Throgs Neck are fed up with having some unwanted neighbors running through their yards.

They say raccoons are constantly in their backyards, scuttling through things. One woman said a raccoon actually broke through one of her screen doors and came into her house.

Knowing that one of the raccoons made it into someone's home is a little to close for comfort for the residents. They say the city is not helping and claim that animal control will only do something if the raccoon enters a home.

News 12 The Bronx contacted various city agencies. All they suggested was for the residents to call a professional pest control agency or a trapper.

Residents are also urged to keep their distance from the raccoons because they can carry rabies.
