Low-income Bronx residents urged to take advantage of free tax return centers

(04/10/04) FORDHAM - The deadline to return taxes is quickly approaching. But filing them does not have to be expensive.

Low-income Bronx residents can get their returns done for free up until April 15 at 2514 Creston Avenue and 337 East 149th Street. While at one of those locations, volunteer tax experts will tell folks if they are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (ETIC.) Residents are asked to bring all W-2 forms, 10-99 forms and their social security card so that the tax session will go smoothly.

For more information about preparing taxes for free, call the Community Food Resource Center Money Central hotline at (1-866) 924-3758.
