Bronx well represented on All-State teams in girl's basketball

The best of the best in New York State girl's hoops is announced and the Bronx is well represented in Class B and C.

Mehgan Ahl from Preston was named Class B All-State First Team. The senior averaged 18.7 points, 6 assists and 5 steals a game this season. She has scored 1,449 points in her career. Joining Ahl on the All-State First Team was Judith Brittany Ray. The sophomore led the Aquinas to the Catholic League State Finals and is the only 10th grader named to the First Team.

Also in Class B, Althea Chambers from Cardinal Spellman was named to the Class B Eighth Team. Chambers was the lady Falcons leading scorer and led the team to the archdiocese finals.

In Class C, Bronx leadership guard Vanessa Rivera was named to the All-State Second Team. She averaged 10 points and 10 assists per game for the lady Wolves.
