Bronx residents flock to area post offices to file last minute tax returns

Bronx residents are rushing to area post offices Thursday to file their last minute tax returns.

At the post office on E. 144th Street and the Grand Concourse things were quiet in the morning but the postmaster says as the day progresses it will get busy. Aside from the stragglers, many residents said they filed months ago to get early returns. Others say they have taken advantage of e-filing to avoid a trip to the post office.

Any residents looking to have their tax returns postmarked before midnight should know that the only post office open in the Bronx that late is the one on E. 144 Street and the Grand Concourse.
