EPA finds that air pollution in the Bronx is at a dangerous level

There's a smog alert in the Bronx as the Environmental Protection Agency finds that air pollution in the borough is at dangerous levels.

According to the EPA, 31 states don't meet new health standards for air quality. The states must now submit plans to reduce pollution. EPA officials also gave areas such as the Bronx certain rules to follow to ensure cleaner air.

Some residents say it's a little too late to clean up the air. They feel the air quality shouldn't have been allowed to get as bad as it is.

Officials at the Environmental Working Group found that the Bronx is one of the 10 most air polluted cities. The EPA hopes with the new rules in place, all states will work harder to help Americans breathe cleaner.
