Proposed legislation would suspend parking meter rules on Sundays

Bronx Councilman Larry Seabrook is proposing a legislation that would suspend parking meter rules on Sundays.

Officials say last year Bronx residents started paying for meters on Sundays in order to help the city deal with a budget deficit. Seabrook says the city is no longer in need of the extra money.

Residents have mixed feelings about paying for meters on Sundays. Some find it a burden while trying to attend church services, while others feel the constant flow of cars is good for businesses.

Officials say although there is new legislation there is no guarantee that it will go into effect.
