Fordham residents return home to try and salvage what's left after blaze

Residents returned to their apartments at 25-85 Grand Concourse Monday to try and salvage what's left of their belongings after a fire ripped through their building Sunday.

The three-alarm blaze started in a top floor apartment and quickly spread to the apartments next door. Residents say there is a lot of water damage in their apartments and that a lot of their belongings are ruined.

Many residents are looking for places to stay until everything in the building is cleaned up. They say the Red Cross has given them vouchers to Sears so that they can buy clothes.

Eighteen firefighters were injured in the blaze. The cause is still unknown.
