Bronx nurse found shot to death in her Castle Hill home

Police are investigating the shooting death of a 37-year-old Bronx nurse Tuesday.

Waheeda Khan was found dead in her Castle Hill home on Blackrock Avenue. She was described as a hardworking nurse who also was a landlord. Those who knew her say she loved to garden.

According to Khan's family, her youngest son was home sleeping at the time of the shooting and her oldest was out getting food. The family says when the oldest son returned at around 3 a.m. he found his mother dead, with a gunshot wound to the head. Khan's family says she was supposed to go to Guyana to visit her husband later this week.

Police do not yet have any suspects or a motive.
