Mayor joins borough president in unveiling plan for Bronx Terminal Market

Mayor Bloomberg and Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr. unveiled a multimillion plan to turn the Bronx Terminal Market into a waterfront retail and entertainment center.

The plan is part of Carrion's Bronx at Work Program. Carrion says the new facility will bring approximately 4,000 jobs to the Bronx.

Unfortunately not everyone is pleased with Carrion's plan. The vendors who currently work at the market are being forced out. They say if they can't find somewhere else to sell their products they will be out of a job. The vendors cater to African and Caribbean immigrants.
