Morrisania parents angered over not knowing about plans for JHS 145

Morrisania parents are upset over learning that JHS 145 is set to close in order to make way for what school officials call new small schools.

Residents say the Department of Education never notified them about the change. They say the community should have more input when it comes to making decisions about schools.

A similar situation is also taking place in Riverdale where residents are blasting the Department of Education over a new school slated to take over Middle/High School 368. Parents there say they also were never notified that the school would be closing in order to make way for the new Fun Math School. The Fun Math School will open in the fall.
