Students from the Celia Cruz High School of Music perform at Lincoln Center

Students from the Celia Cruz High School of Music are got a chance to showcase their talent at Lincoln Center Tuesday.

Approximately 90 ninth-graders took to the stage and dazzled the crowd. The school, which has been in existence less than a year, is a collaboration between Dewitt Clinton High School and Lehman College.

The principal says the school is about more than just music. The students learn all of their academics there and take Regents exams just like at other schools. He says the difference is every student either plays an instrument or sings.

Students say they love the school because it is small and everyone knows one another. They say teachers are able to give them a lot of one-on-one attention.
