Young girl's quick thinking helps her fight off attacker on Tremont Avenue

A 9-year-old's quick thinking helped her fight off a man who was trying to pull her into his car.

Police say the incident happened on Wednesday while the girl was waiting for a bus on Tremont Avenue and West Farms Road. They say a man in a white van told the girl her mom sent him to pick her up. The girl told police that the man got out of the van and grabbed her but she started to kick him. The little girl was then able to get away.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
