Bronx resident wins Fedcap's Annual Poetry Contest

Bronx resident, Delores Hall, is the recent winner of Fedcap's Annual Poetry Contest. Fedcap is a non-profit organization that helps New Yorkers with disabilities and personal obstacles get the proper training to find jobs.

Hall says she lost her husband a couple of years ago and started drinking. She has been sober for five years and found it difficult to find a job. Hall has been working with the Fedcap program for over a year and says the program has helped her professionally and personally.

Officials say the Fedcap program has been running for nearly 70 years and has helped thousands of New Yorkers find jobs. The executive director of Fedcap says the goal of the program is to help eliminate bias against people with disabilities and those struggling with personal barriers in the workplace.

Fedcap is located at 119 West 19th Street in Manhattan.
