Lehman hosts Columbus on the baseball diamond in a battle for first place

It was a battle for first place in the West A Division on the baseball diamond as Lehman hosted Columbus in a back-to-back two game series. The Lions entered the game 9-2 with Columbus just a half a game behind them.

With no score at the top of the 3rd, Carlos Rodriquez hits a solo shot to make it 1-0 Columbus. Then in the bottom of the 4th, Lehman's Alvin Garcia singles to left and ties the game 1-1. While still in the 4th there was some controversy over an in the park homerun. Columbus argued the ball went into an unplayable area but the umpires disagreed.

Lehman went on to win the game 11-8. The teams play again Thursday.
