Price for a livery cab ride set to go up $1 in the Bronx and citywide

Bronx and city residents will have to pay an extra dollar to take a livery cab starting Monday.

The hike for livery cab fares comes just one week after the fare to ride yellow cabs went up. One of the reasons for the hike is the cost of gas, tolls and parking tickets. The president of the New York State Federation of taxi drivers says the increase will keep drivers employed.

Livery cab fare hikes will affect 23 Bronx based cab companies.
