Clinton hosts PSAL girls' outdoor track and field championships
Clinton hosted the PSAL girls' Bronx Borough Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The lady Governor's have been unbeatable for more than a decade, winning 15 consecutive borough championships going back to 1989. This year, they faced their stiffest competition yet with Truman competing. Truman boasts some of the best sprinters in the city.
Starting with the 100-meter dash, it was two Truman teammates vying to be the fastest woman in the borough. Kayleen Watson pulled out the win finishing in 12.3 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Truman's Dominique Blake was all alone heading to the finish line. She finished in 55.8 seconds. Blake also won the 800-meter dash and 200 meter.
It was Clinton's Dana Foster who beat out the competition in the 1500-meter race with a time of 5:15:06. And Clinton also won the 1500-meter race walk with Denise Jones leading start to finish.
Overall, Clinton won 8 individual events and all 3 relays easily winning its 16th straight team championship.
