Summer Youth Employment Program has fewer jobs for Bronx kids

The Bronx Summer Youth Employment Program has made a few changes this year, including offering fewer jobs to kids.

The major change to the Employment Program will be that kids will be working five days a week, instead of four. Officials say that it will be harder to get a job this year, but the teens that are lucky to get a city job will be earning more money.

Some other changes to the Program this year are that teens will be paid with debit cards instead of checks. According to officials, teens will also be required to sit through classes on financial responsibility.

The application deadline for the Employment Program is June 11. Officials say teens will find out at the end of the June if they are hired.
