Bloomberg proposes legislation to keep the noise down in the Bronx and city
In an effort to reduce the noise level in the Bronx and city, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has proposed legislation to rewrite the city's noise code.
The legislation targets nightclubs, construction sites and noisy air conditioners. The mayor says a change to the noise code will help police officers identify unacceptable noise levels.
Mayor Bloomberg says the top complaint to the city's 311 hotline is noise. The City Council will hold hearings on the noise legislationthis summer.
