Construction along Riverdale Avenue in the Bronx coming to an end

The ongoing construction along Riverdale Avenue will soon wrap up, ending more than two years of traffic woes for Bronx residents.

Department of Design and Construction crews have been working to rebuild a retaining wall along Riverdale Avenue and W. 232nd after it collapsed in January of 2002. Part of the road was shut down, allowing only one-way traffic. Then in March, the road was re-opened to two-way traffic northbound and one way for cars traveling southbound.

Officials from the DDC say workers will be paving the road this week and say construction will conclude by the end of the month.
