Hunts Point teacher carries Olympic Flame through Bronx

A Hunts Point teacher had the honor of carrying the Olympic Flame through the Bronx as part of its journey around the world.

Ruth Lyons, chosen because of her service as a teacher, was both nervous and excited as she carried the torch Saturday. Lyons says she is blessed, and will remember the experience for the rest of her life.

The torch has already passed through Asia, South America and Africa. The flame will have visited 27 countries before it returns to Athens in August for the start of the Olympics.
